Kitej, la ciudad invisible y otras leyendas rusas - Oche Califa

The legends are interesting, but few and lacking some of the greatest characters (where is that old witch?), and the adaptation ranges from uninspired to appalling. Low points always come when culturally wrong metaphors and sayings play along side the obviously Russian elements. Author tries to get cutesy and just bothers and distracts.

It passes muster not by any effort of the author, but the richness of the culture. The gorgeous art takes the extra credit.
